OTHER ACTIVITIES
Recording of the Finds
Thanks to the creation of databases (in MS Access
2002) specifically designed for the archaeological activities in the tomb
of Harwa, we were able to store almost all the data (with the exception of
that from the 1999 season) concerning the finds recovered since the
beginning of the excavation. More than 2500 objects were stored in the
databases.
Architectural
Activities
The architect Dieter
Eigner completed the drawings of the subterranean parts of the tomb. These
were digitised by the architect Silvia Bertolini using Autocad 2002 with
the aim of obtaining a virtual reconstruction of the tomb (Fig.
8).
Study of the Finds
Professor Lorelei
Corcoran of the University of Memphis, Tennessee studied all the fragments
of wooden coffin and cartonnage found during the excavations. In
addition to providing clearer indication of the date of each, her study,
led to the reunion of various fragments belonging to a single coffin.
