THE CLEANING OF THE WALLS

We built a scaffolding structure over the shaft opening in the north-western corner of the Second Pillared Hall and so we were able to complete the cleaning of that part of walls from the bat guano. The state of preservation of texts and illustrations under it proved to be fairly good (Fig. 4).

In the westernmost part of the north wall was discovered a solar hymn that appears to be an interesting variant of Chapter 71 of the Ritual of the Opening of the Mouth. The scene illustrating it proved to be really peculiar: a sem and a hery-heb priest are depicted in front of a solar disk performing an incense offering.
