Visit the Tomb of Harwa
The quarry

Exit the tomb

In the course of the 2000 excavation season a limestone quarry was discovered, that overhangs the southern angle of the the access portico to the tomb. A jar (indicated by the red arrow) was found against the east wall, demonstrating that the quarry dates to the same time as the tomb.  There is an accumulation of stone blocks still in the southern part of the quarry, corresponding to refuse produced by the workers.
