The first pillared hall

Exit the tomb

The first pillared hall is subdivided into three aisles.  The pillars of the northern row were decorated with the Ritual of the Hours of the Day, those of the southern row were decorated with the Ritual of the Hours of the Night. Thus the first pillared hall was intended to reproduce the passage of time. This is  expressed by the daily course of the sun rendered through the text inscribed on the pillars.  The walls o the hall are decorated with the Texts of the Pyramids.
